Three aspects drive CFES, the school Mission, Vision and School Improvement Goal:
Our Mission
Wake County Public School System will provide a relevant and engaging education and will graduate students who are collaborative, creative, effective communicators, and critical thinkers.
Our Vision
At Cedar Fork Elementary School, we provide stimulating, challenging, and relevant instruction. Working together and sharing talents enables us to achieve excellence. We provide a safe, nurturing environment. We meet the needs of all students through the use of research based practices. Collaboration and planning takes place both within and across grade levels and special areas. We ensure that all learners are prepared for the 21st century. We respect, encourage, and celebrate diversity.
School Improvement Goal
By 2021, we will decrease the opportunity gaps of our overall report card proficiency in ELA and Math by 50% between the highest subgroup and all other subgroups when compared to the 2017-2018 opportunity gaps.
Leadership Summary:
I have witnessed, learned and observed my mentor principal set up strategically communicate how we (as a school) will be safe and provide students the best learning experience. I have learned how to effectively communicate with staff and put structures in place in which teachers understand their importance and their voices being heard.
In the beginning of the school year I was exposed on how to set up structures in which you gain information about the staff, through surveys. After every meeting and presentation we (admin staff) creates a survey to get feedback on what worked or didn't work.
Once data form a survey is collected we meet as an administration team and go through the information and formulate how we can become better and approach situations. One example of shared leadership is the request of a calendar which displays days which we have monthly meetings, we were able to forecast the entire school year and provide staff the full picture of PLT meetings.

Evidence of Distributive Leadership:
Through the course of the school year my mentor principal has provided the avenue to be a leader that listens, reflects and implements new practices and or my own vision. Twice a week (Monday/Fridays) we meet as a administration and review what we see and what we need to improve as a school and leadership team. As time has passed my mentor principle has trusted me to make appropriate decisions and address the entire staff.
